He was revived by Madame Vastra & Jenny Flint; it's unclear whether he was brought back from the dead or, as Jenny suggests, simply fainted (see "The Battle of Demons Run: Two Days Later"), although as there is no reference to Lorna Bucket also being revived ("A Good Man Goes to War"), latter is more likely (or perhaps her injuries were more severe). The device used to revive him was owned by Jenny Flint and Madame Vastra and was the very same device that would later be used to try and resurrect Clara Oswin Oswald ("The Snowmen") and Jenny herself ("The Name of the Doctor").
