No count of planets has ever been given. A list of planets mentioned in the show & its spinoffs can be found at wikipedia:List of Doctor Who planets. That same page also has lists of moons & planetoids (asteroids), several of which are inhabited. Planets new to us are introduced very frequently, so this list can be expected to keep growing.
