Tom Baker started in the role on TV when he was 40, and left when he was 47. He also played the Doctor in "Dimensions in Time" when he was 59. He then reprised the role of the Fourth Doctor in various audio stories from the age of 75 to the present day, and also made a cameo in "The Day of the Doctor" at age 79 as the Curator.
